Anything in this contract I should know about before I sign?
I've read the full contract. Here are 3 things to watch:
- 1. Volume tolerance ±15% - if your usage changes more than 15%, they can reprice your contract mid-term.
- 2. Auto-renewal clause - miss the 60 days' notice and it renews automatically, at a price the supplier sets.
- 3. No termination break - you're locked in for the full 24 months with no early exit option.
These are fairly standard terms - but now you know before you sign, not after.

How is Meet George different from other energy switching platforms?
Many comparison sites look automated, then pass your details to a call centre for quotes and sales calls.
Meet George is building real automation for the hard parts of a business switch: eligibility, credit checks, supplier rejections and contract signing. We're open about which parts are still manual.
The difference: we build the software that does the switch. A lead-generation site passes you to someone who does it by phone.
Why is business energy switching harder to automate than residential?
Residential switching works because it's simple: standard contracts, no credit checks, instant acceptance.
Business switching is fundamentally more complex:
- Suppliers run credit checks on every business (businesses can be rejected)
- Different suppliers have different risk tolerances (same business accepted by one, rejected by another)
- Suppliers manage hedging risk and financial exposure
- Multi-site complexity, varied consumption patterns, sector-specific risks
- Higher financial stakes (£5k-£50k+ annual contracts)
This is why business energy switching has remained broker-dependent. Until now.
How much does Meet George cost?
Meet George charges a flat 1p/kWh fee, itemised on every quote and never buried in your unit rate. You pay this fee - it is collected through your energy supplier and passed to us over the life of your contract, based on your actual usage.
On 50,000 kWh a year our fee is £500 a year - £1,000 over a 2-year contract, £1,500 over 3 years. The rate is the same whichever supplier you choose, so we have no reason to steer you.
