A voluntary code administered by the Retail Energy Code that sets standards for how energy brokers should treat business customers.
We are one of only
52
companies who have signed
out of an estimated 2,700+ energy brokers in the UK
Accurate as of 22nd January 2026
That's less than 2% of the industry. The Code is voluntary - most brokers choose not to sign.
The TPI Code of Practice is a set of standards for Third Party Intermediaries (TPIs) - that's the official term for energy brokers and comparison services.
It's produced and administered by RECCo, the independent body that runs the Retail Energy Code - the Ofgem-regulated code governing retail energy markets in Great Britain.
Signatories commit to 7 principles covering transparency, fair treatment, data protection, and dispute resolution.
We didn't sign the Code because we had to. It's voluntary, and most brokers don't bother.
We signed because the Code describes how we already operate. Transparent pricing. Fair treatment. No pressure tactics. It's not a new commitment - it's a public record of what we've always believed.
If you've been let down by energy brokers before, we understand your scepticism. That's exactly why this Code exists.
See How We're PaidHere's what the Code requires of us - and what it means for you.
We tell you upfront that we're an intermediary, how we're paid, and exactly what our fee is. No hidden surprises.
You see our commission calculation before signing anything. We show you every supplier we approached and every quote we received.
We only recommend contracts suitable for your needs. No pressure tactics, no misleading claims, no small print tricks.
If something goes wrong, you have a clear path to resolve it - including access to an independent ombudsman.
Your data is handled in accordance with GDPR. We're registered with the ICO and have proper security controls.
Everyone at Meet George is trained on these principles. We maintain records to prove it.
We keep evidence of our compliance and have processes to check our activities against the Code. This isn't just about signing a document - it's about ongoing accountability.
We hope you never need this, but the Code requires us to have a clear complaints process and be signed up to an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) scheme.
We're registered with the Energy Ombudsman, which handles disputes for small and micro business consumers.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled a complaint, you can escalate to the Ombudsman for free, independent resolution.
