Partners & Supplier Roles

When you switch energy through Meet George, your data may be shared with energy suppliers and brokerage partners. Here's how the data protection responsibilities work.

Energy Suppliers

Independent Controllers

Determine their own purposes

Energy suppliers typically act as independent data controllers for:

  • Quote issuance and pricing decisions
  • Credit and eligibility checks
  • Contract setup and administration
  • Billing and ongoing supply

Suppliers have their own privacy policies governing how they handle your data.

Brokerage Partners

POWWR / Broker360

Role depends on activity

Where your switch runs via a brokerage platform route, the partner's role varies:

Acting as Our Processor
  • • Portal connectivity
  • • Switching workflow operations
  • • Quote retrieval
Acting as Controller
  • • Commission administration
  • • Brokerage platform activities
  • • Their own business purposes

We put appropriate data protection terms in place and document the role split.

What Data We Share

To obtain quotes and process switches, we share:

  • Business and contact details
  • Meter identifiers (MPAN/MPRN)
  • Usage and consumption data
  • Signed documents (LoA, contracts)
  • Bank details for Direct Debit setup (passed to supplier only)

Your Rights

You can exercise your data protection rights with us for data we control. For data held by suppliers or partners as controllers, you may need to contact them directly.
